We’re looking for people to join our Advisory Board and members of a newly formed Community Engagement Committee. Rock County Jumpstart Advisory Board 

Are you a Black entrepreneur with a passion for fostering growth and innovation? Rock County Jumpstart is excited to invite you to be part of our newly revamped Advisory Board, a key initiative designed to elevate our organization and amplify our impact. We are seeking visionary Black entrepreneurs to join us in providing strategic guidance and insights to help Rock County Jumpstart achieve its goals. 

About the Advisory Board

The Advisory Board will play a crucial role in supporting Rock County Jumpstart’s leadership team by offering expert advice and fresh perspectives. This board will consist of ambitious Black and minority entrepreneurs who are committed to helping our organization thrive and make a significant difference in our community. Members will also receive extensive professional development on board governance, strategic planning, and fundraising, empowering them to maximize their impact and leadership capabilities.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Strategic Guidance: Offer valuable insights and recommendations to Rock County Jumpstart’s leadership team to drive growth and achieve organizational goals.
  • Professional Development: Participate in workshops focused on board development, governance, fundraising, and strategic planning to enhance your skills and effectiveness.
  • Networking: Connect with other Black entrepreneurs, community leaders, and key stakeholders to expand your professional network.
  • Community Impact: Contribute to the advancement of Rock County Jumpstart’s mission to support local entrepreneurs and foster economic development.

Who Should Apply?

We are looking for Black and minority entrepreneurs who:

  • Are enthusiastic about mentoring and advising fellow entrepreneurs.
  • Are committed to personal growth and professional development.
  • Desire to make a meaningful impact within Rock County Jumpstart and the broader entrepreneurial community.

Community Engagement Committee

The Rock County Jumpstart Community Engagement Committee is dedicated to advocating for the financial and policy support needed to uplift Black and minority business owners in our community. This committee will work closely with the Executive Director to raise awareness of the challenges faced by Black and Latino entrepreneurs. Through extensive and aggressive outreach efforts, collaboration, and strategic partnerships, the committee will champion initiatives that promote increased financial resources, grant opportunities, and economic incentives for minority-owned businesses. Our goal is to create a stronger, more inclusive business ecosystem in Rock County by encouraging policies that remove barriers, foster growth, and provide equitable access to funding for underserved entrepreneurs. Together, we’ll drive meaningful change and ensure that Black and minority business owners are empowered to thrive.

Qualifications

  • Commitment to Mission and Vision: Members must be deeply committed to the mission of Rock County Jumpstart, which is to support the success and growth of Black and Latino business owners, and the vision of fostering an inclusive and thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem in Rock County.
  • Willingness to Serve: Members must be willing to serve on the committee for a minimum term of 18 months, actively participating in meetings, advocacy efforts, and community initiatives.
  • Community Involvement: A demonstrated interest in minority business support, and community empowerment in Rock County is essential.
  • Team Player: Members must be collaborative and willing to contribute to the committee’s collective efforts, working together to develop strategies that promote financial support and resources for minority entrepreneurs.
  • Passion for Change: An understanding of the barriers faced by minority business owners and a passion for driving systemic change through advocacy, partnerships, and community-building.
